Prepaid Conference Calling

Conference calling can often become quite costly, especially if you’re not on the right tariff with your third party conference call provider. Most companies charge around $3 per minute for conferencing calling which can soon stack up - especially if you’re spending hours talking with your remotely located sales teams or multiple business partners day in day out around the world.

The good news is that conference call companies are now offering prepaid services or month to month contracts with huge discounts if you pre-pay for a large amount of minutes. Some companies offer 500 or so minutes for $20 - $50 - This is much cheaper than paying $1500 on a pay as you go service. These services work in a similar way to your mobile phone. You pay a fixed monthly fee for inclusive minutes and are only billed when you run over.

You can also make conference calls via a prepaid service. You can pay for a certain amount of minutes up front and enjoy large discounts when compared with paying minute by minute.

For most corporations, the most cost effective method is to take out the monthly plan, especially if you can work within the inclusive minutes.

Support For Your New Gadgets

We absolutely love gadgets at gadgetbiz.info, as you should now know! But, what when something goes wrong with your gadget? What to do? For the most part, gadgets, especially the smaller ones, do not come with support, maybe just simply an instruction manual. But, for the larger purchases, you are going to need full support - maybe even telephone support?

As we review a large amount of gadgets on this site, we do, from time to time need to get on the phone and speak to the help desk. I must say, I am extremely surprised at the level of knowledge the support operators possess these days compared to a few years ago. Admittedly, this is primarily down to help desk outsourcing, to highly trained individuals that are trained in supporting a particular product or service. The help desk services offered, particularly by the technology companies (in my experience anyway) have been second to none. All of the help desk operators I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with have answered my query within minutes in an extremely professional manner.

Overall, I think help desk outsourcing is an extremely positive thing, regardless of where the company is located. If they’re skilled in the product or service and encounter issues all day every day, they’re going to know about your issue and more importantly, know how to resolve it.

What Type Of Mobile Service

Mobile phone service providers usually offer you two alternatives: post paid mobile phones and pay as you go phones. The first alternative usually has a wider variety of mobile phone deals and promotions that are accessible only for users with the post paid service scheme; the downside of this is that there is little to no way to control the use that you make of your mobile phone other than self awareness. The pay as you go mobile phones have a specific and prepaid line that will allow you to make phone calls and send SMS until such prepaid credit expires, when you will have to increase it by buying more.

One of the most important things to consider when you are searching for the right mobile phone deals with pay as you go phones is to compare mobile broadband that will allow you to surf the Internet from your phone. Viewing emails and using IMS through your phone will only be possible if your mobile service has the right broadband; while you compare mobile broadband in the different mobile service providers, also make sure that the phone model that you select is adequate for the mobile service and the broadband.

Megapixels

A lot of friends ask me the same question: how many megapixels do you think I should get when I buy a digital camera? There are no exact answers to this question, but there is a way to determine how many megapixels you should get, based on your needs.

2 megapixels or less are typically found in cheap cameras or cell phones, and it is basically hard for you to get prints from this resolution so it would probably be suitable for screen use (online photo album, etc.). 3 megapixels offers a good mixture between quality and price. You will be able to get crisp 4×6 prints, and a decent 5×7 prints. 3 megapixels cameras are suitable for home use, although it is advisable to get higher resolution if your budget allows you to. A 4 megapixel camera will get you 8×10 prints and lab quality 4×6 prints with no problem at all. If you are thinking about enlarging a lot of your pictures, you should purchase a digital camera with at least 4 megapixels. 5 megapixels are great, and you are getting close to photographer level of quality. You will be able to save some money and still get high quality pictures. And of course, 6 megapixels and up which offer superb photo quality and flexible enlargement options.

Now that you know the theory of it, you can assess your own digital camera usage and choose how many megapixels you need. Oh, don’t forget that higher megapixels means bigger file sizes – you need bigger, more expensive, memory cards as well.

The first generation of iPod Touch was amazing, having the form factor of an iPhone with all multimedia features of the legendary iPod series. The fact that it has a touch screen as its input method is another added point; you can now shuffle through those album cover with your thumb touching the screen, as simple as that. Recently, Apple released iPod Touch (Second Generation) as an upgrade to the first one. The question is, though: is it worth having? Let us take a look at iPod Touch newest features and see if it is really worth upgrading.

Music, videos, photos, podcasts, is that all? No! Don’t forget web browsing, internet radio, games, Nike+, Wi-Fi music downloads, and an App Store for adding thousands of custom features. Yes, the new iPod Touch is an overwhelming gadget indeed, with tons of useful features that will keep you busy all day. You can even add custom features – applications, or even games – to your iPod Touch to make it even better. The audio quality of this device is average, which is a bit disappointing, but Apple manage to satisfy its users just fine with this piece of hardware. How Google Are You?

Have you ever paused for a moment and seen how much Google had affected your life? Let’s see: we use Google’s search engine to navigate through the internet every day, use Google Talk to chat with friends and family and exchange information, Google Earth to just find interesting stuff or maybe Google Maps to navigate our way. Is that all? Not yet. Gmail is not to be left behind, since its 7++ gigabytes, per user, is storing our e-mails – both work related e-mails and forwarded junks. Google Docs is another great Google feature, allowing users to exchange documents with ease. Don’t forget Google Apps, hosting yourname@yourdomain.com and lots of other features with your domain and logo on it, for free!

The list goes on and on; I don’t think I can adequately explain how Google has changed our view of the internet here. It is only natural to ask the question: how Google are you? Are you so Google that you will use a Google Phone? Yes, here comes the big surprise. Google’s smart phone platform, Android, will be released soon! It will be used in gadgets called HTC Dream or T-Mobile G1, manufactured by HTC. If you think you are Google enough, wait ‘till you see this phone available this October (at the earliest).

There are lots of people who are familiar with digital cameras, yet still make mistakes when it comes to buying one for themselves. You might be familiar with terms such as megapixels and optical zooms, yet still end up buying the wrong thing for your needs. Here, we are going to discuss digital camera buying mistakes, and how you can avoid them.

The first and most common mistake when it comes to buying a digital camera is buying the most expensive digital camera you can afford. You might end up with the coolest, most advanced digital camera available on the market, but this is not always the case. Even if you do get the coolest, most advanced digital camera, you might not need it. There is no need to pay for features you will not use, right? Focus more on features you need. Megapixel is not the only measurement to determine a digital camera’s quality, so be sure to review its specifications.

Last, please do try the camera before you purchase one. Trying means you get to feel the gadget in action, and you will be able to see if it will be usable for you in the future. Happy digital camera shopping!

Use Your Cell Phone Safely

Some experts say that cell phone usage could cause cancer. Other research has stated that the use of cell phones is the main reason for highway accidents. These facts are true, but it does not prove that it is not safe to use your cell phone. These days, we need cell phones more than we need landlines, so we just have to find a way to use our cell phones safely.

Whenever possible, use your cell phone’s speakerphone function. This will reduce the risk of cell phone radiation causing brain cancer, plus it is also more convenient. You should put your cell phone in your bag, since placing them on belt clips or inside your pocket will also expose yourself to cell phone radiation. Besides, there are several Bluetooth headsets available at a bargain, so you can put your cell phone somewhere and still use it with the Bluetooth headset attached to your ear. Bluetooth headsets or car kits will also be useful when you are driving. Never reach out to your phone to answer a call whenever you are driving. You will be unaware of the road (even for a small amount of time) and a temporary lapse in concentration can turn into a disaster in no time.

Cell phones are useful indeed, and there are ways to use the safely. I’m sure you are wise enough to avoid unnecessary dangers and practice safe cell phone use every day.
